The Fast Track Pro features 2 sets of stereo RCA (red & white “phono”) outputs. These two sets of outputs can be utilized in a variety of different configurations.

When using the Fast Track Pro with PCDJ, the two most common configurations are as follows:
Configuration #1
This configuration is for those who want to mix between songs using PCDJ’s software crossfader. Mixing songs using PCDJ’s software crossfader (instead of an external analog DJ mixer) will allow you to utilize PCDJ’s Cue Mix function. In this configuration, you’ll able to use the A/B button on the front of the Fast Track Pro to switch between the “main mix” the audience is hearing and the “cue mix” that only the DJ can hear. In order to use the A/B monitoring function, you will need to be monitoring your PCDJ performance via a pair of headphones plugged into the headphone input on the front of the Fast Track Pro.
Steps:
- Properly install the Fast Track Pro using the latest drivers from our driver download page*.
- Make sure the Mix knob on the front panel of the Fast Track Pro is set all the way to the right, to “PB” (playback). The Mix knob defines the balance between live audio input (from an external mic, guitar, etc connected to the Fast Track Pro) and software playback. The Mix knob affects outputs 1/2 only, outputs 3/4 are unaffected. Unless the user needs to mix in live microphone input during a set, the Mix knob should always be set all the way to the right when performing with PCDJ.
- Launch PCDJ and select CFG from the menu in the top right portion of the screen.
- In the resulting configuration editor, select “Fast Track Pro Out 1/2” for Player 1 and Player 2, and select “Fast Track Pro Out 3/4” for Cue Mix. Leave the “Channels” for both players and the Cue Mix set to 1/2.

- Click “OK” to confirm the changes.
- Load a song into PCDJ’s Player 1 and a different song into Player 2.**
- Move PCDJ’s crossfader all the way to the left (for example), and activate the “Cue” button for the player on the opposite side (player 2 on the right in this example).
- Begin playing the tracks in both players.
- While monitoring the mix through headphones plugged into the headphone jack on the Fast Track Pro, toggle between main mix and the cue mix using the A/B button on the front of the device.
Note: there is no need to physically connect audio cables to the Fast Track Pros outputs 3/4 in this particular configuration, because the “main mix” for the audience is being routed out of outputs 1/2 exclusively. This means that you have the option of using either RCA outputs 1/2 or TRS Outputs 1/2 for this configuration, as both RCA 1/2 and TRS 1/2 output the signal you choose to route to "Fast Track Pro Out 1/2" in your software.
Configuration #2
This configuration is for those who want to mix between songs using an external analog DJ mixer. Instead of monitoring the main mix via headphones connected to the Fast Track Pro, users will monitor their mix from the external DJ mixer that Fast Track Pro outputs 1/2 and 3/4 will be fed into. In most cases, all crossfading and cue-monitoring will be done via this external hardware mixer, with all level controls related to PCDJ and the Fast Track Pro set to nominal (full volume, 0dB) for the duration of the performance.
In this particular setup, the Mix knob will need to be turned all the way to the right to insure that the volume levels between outputs 1/2 and 3/4 are balanced.
- Connect Fast Track Pro RCA outputs 1/2 and 3/4 to your external hardware mixer in a manner that will allow you to mix between the signal coming out of outputs 1/2 and the signal coming out of outputs 3/4.
- Launch PCDJ and select CFG from the menu in the top right portion of the screen.
- In the resulting configuration editor, select “Fast Track Pro Out 1/2” for Player 1 and “Fast Track Pro Out 3/4” for Player 2. Leave the “Channels” for both players set to 1/2.

- Click “OK” to confirm the changes.
- Load a song into PCDJ’s Player 1 and a different song into Player 2.**
- Begin playing both songs and mixing between the two with your DJ mixer.
* Note: despite the Fast Track Pro’s ability to function without installing special drivers, M-Audio drivers are required to utilize outputs 3 and 4.
** After making changes in PCDJ’s Config menu and clicking “OK”, the changes made will not take effect until Player 1 and Player 2 are “refreshed” by loading in a song. If a song was already loaded into Player 1 or Player 2 before you made changes in the Config menu, you will need to reload those songs in order to refresh the Players before those changes can take effect.
