El Tambor de la Tribu
El Tambor de la Tribu is a project that merges different rhythms of Latin music with cutting edge sounds covering genres such as rock, reggae, soul & ska merged with the “Son”, Cumbia and Vallenato achieving a Latin pop rock mix, which on stage creates a striking spectacle, perfectly balancing the force and energy that characterize the band, with their sentimental ballads.

ON STAGE
They debuted in June 2004. Since then, they have played in more than 400 shows throughout the republic of Guatemala, Belize and Southern Mexico. They have shared the stage with major international artists like Carlos Vives, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Julieta Venegas, Rabanes, Reik, Belinda and La Quinta Estación, among others. Their music has been played in all major radio stations in Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras & Nicaragua.

DISCOGRAPHY
AFINANDO LOS CUEROS (2005)
Their first album was released in April 2005. Each track invites to dance, and the parranda. This material contained 6 singles: Skalavera, Watch It and Tu Mujer, each one was No. 1 HIT at the Guatemalan radio stations for several consecutive weeks. The other singles, Te Necesito, En el Mar Te Miras Más Sabrosa and Si Te Vas were all TOP 10. With this album they won awards as Best New Artist, Best Pop Band, Best Song & Best Album in 2005 and 2006.

ALBORADA (2007)
Their second production was launched recently, in June 2007. In this album the band achieves new levels in music & composition. A more mature sound, energized but still classy, which makes a perfect blend with the lyrics, this time committed to a message. The album contains 12 tracks, from which 2 singles have already emerged: No Estás, a song with the punk-reggae style from the band, with great force, being the ice-breaker after several months of silence. Ay Amor, a mellow song flavored with cumbia, something entirely new to the band an their audience, took by surprise the radial rankings positioning in the No. 1 in the Guatemalan Radio Stations. In 2007, El Tambor de la Tribu was nominated to the 2007 Awards, by the 40 Principales Radio (Spain), as Best Band of Guatemala 2007.
