Albright on M-Audio Hardware: “I personally use my FireWire 410 on the road. I do songwriting in my hotel room and I use it during my live shows to drive sequenced audio to induce a fuller production live. It has been so helpful on the road. Case in point: late last year, I did a two-month international tour with Phil Collins. It was my intention to finish my 12th CD before leaving for the tour, which didn’t happen. I was forced to finish my saxophone overdubs on the road. I would show up at the venues early and pick a strategic room to record. With my computer, FireWire 410 and microphone I was able to record great-sounding tracks and send them via the Internet to my engineer in Los Angeles, who was mixing my project at the time. Simply amazing!”

What he’s proud of: “I’m proud of the fact that I’m fulfilling my lifelong dream to play my own music and make a living at it. I’m also proud of all the wonderful musical icons that I’ve been fortunate enough to work with.”

His songwriting process: “Creativity comes to me in various ways. I can hear a melody, a drum beat, a bass line, or series of chords or lyrics that can induce an idea for a song. Technology has allowed me to record exactly what I’m hearing and employ those musicians to fulfill my vision, sometimes without even leaving the home studio.”

Why M-Audio? “My M-Audio equipment is durable, true-sounding, compact and versatile. I’m enjoying the relationship I have with this great company. M-Audio is very important to the industry. The company has allowed musicians of all incomes and proficiency to improve their sound.”
