1) Insert a properly formatted compact flash card into the MicroTrack II and connect the MicroTrack II to your Mac or PC in host mode (Please refer to your MicroTrack II User Guide for details on this procedure).
2) Copy all of the files included in the update package, except the Readme instructions, to the root (top) directory of the inserted compact flash card (Do not put them inside of a folder).
3) Properly unmount the compact flash card from the computer (Again, please refer to your MicroTrack II User Guide for detailed instructions).
4) Please make sure that the MicroTrack II is connected to either a computer's USB port or its AC power supply before proceeding. Next, navigate to the Main Menu > System > Firmware Update menu item and press the NAV wheel.
5) Follow the instructions displayed on the MicroTrack II screen in order to begin firmware update.
The MicroTrack II will show several status messages on the screen while the update is in progress. As each of the three stages of the update is completed you should receive a confirmation message that the stage has completed. First, you will receive a Bootloader update complete message, then an application update complete message, and finally a resource update complete message. As the update is progressing, the four LEDs around the level controls will also flash sequentially. When all three stages of the firmware update are complete, the MicroTrack II will automatically reboot.
To verify the firmware update was successfully installed, go to Main Menu > System > Version and press the NAV wheel. After the firmware update, it should now show the version you downloaded.
