Delta Series – Known Issues & Workarounds

This article documents known issues with the current Delta Series drivers.  If you are experiencing an issue not listed here, please check our Knowledge Base for a solution. For additional assistance, contact tech support, or check our User Forum.


General

Issue: Delta 1010: The +4/-10 input buttons invert polarity in the -10 position

Workaround: This is by design.  This can be compensated for by enabling the input phase inversion switches on the Hardware Tab of the Delta Control Panel.


 

Windows


Issue: Surround sound bass management* has not yet been implemented with driver versions 5069v3 and newer that support Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Workaround: Windows XP can revert to the 5057v3 driver. Uninstall the current driver; delete the files DeltaII.cpl & deltaIICoIn.dll from C:\Windows\system32 if they still exist, and then install the previous driver.

Issue: Multi-card sync* is not currently supported with driver versions 5069v3 and newer that support Windows Vista & Windows 7.

Workaround: Windows XP can revert to the 5057v3 driver. Uninstall the current driver; delete the files DeltaII.cpl & deltaIICoIn.dll from C:\Windows\system32 if they still exist, and then install the previous driver.


Issue: S/PDIF out not working with some home theater receives with driver versions 5069v3 and newer that support Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Workaround: Windows XP can revert to the 5057v3 driver. Uninstall the current driver; delete the files DeltaII.cpl & deltaIICoIn.dll from C:\Windows\system32 if they still exist, and then install the previous driver.


Issue: The 5069v3 driver uninstaller doesn’t remove all files.

Workaround: This issue is resolved in Delta Driver Version 6.0.5/5076


Issue: ASIO Direct Monitoring does not work.

Workaround: Configure direct input monitoring through the Delta Control Panel, or use software input monitoring.


Issue: Can't launch Delta control panel from applications - Some programs, like Cubase and Ableton Live, have a button to launch the selected audio device's control panel; with current drivers, clicking this button does not open the Delta control panel.

Workaorund: Before launching your audio application, open the Delta control panel from the icon in the System Tray or from the Windows Control Panel.  When clicking the button in your audio application, the Delta control panel window will be brought into focus.  Alternatively you can always open the Delta control panel from the System Tray or Windows Control Panel as needed.


Issue: The Delta Series drivers for Windows no longer support sample rates below 44.1.

Workaround: This issue has been resolved in Delta Driver Version 6.0.5/5076.  Windows XP are recommended to use the 5057v3 driver.


Issue: Some users may encounter a 2753 or IsWow64 Error when attempting to install the Delta driver version 6.0.2/5074.

Workaround: This issue has been resolved in Delta Driver Version 6.0.5/5076.


Issue: The Audiophile 2496 driver does not publish the MME driver Playback option for "Multichannel" as it did with the previous driver.

Workaround: Windows XP can revert to the 5057v3 driver. Uninstall the current driver; delete the files DeltaII.cpl & deltaIICoIn.dll from C:\Windows\system32 if they still exist, and then install the previous driver.


Issue: Delta 1010lt Multichannel playback device does not work with Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center.

Workaround: Use an alternate media player program such as VLC Player.


Issue: Delta 1010 & Delta 1010lt unable to sync to wordclock.

Workaround: Sync via S/PDIF instead. Windows XP users can revert to the 5057v3 driver. Uninstall the current driver; delete the files DeltaII.cpl & deltaIICoIn.dll from C:\Windows\system32 if they still exist, and then install the previous driver. 


Issue: When Delta Series drivers for Windows 7 and Windows Vista are set for external - spdif sync, the sync source status may flash between locked and unlocked every few seconds when no audio applications are open.

Workaround: There is no work around to prevent the status from flashing when no audio applications are open, however, audio input and output is not affected, and the clock source will remain locked while audio applications are running.

 


Mac

Issue: The uninstaller does not uninstall all files.

Workaround: Right –click or Ctrl-click on the Installer (M-Audio Delta Family Software.mpkg) and choose Show Package Contents. Double-click to run the file preflight to uninstall the drivers; then quit the Terminal application.


Issue: Settings made in the Delta control panel are not retained on restart.

Workaround: None.
