Axiom (2nd gen) - How to change the MIDI CC assignment for a control
Text size [-] [+]

It is possible to configure any of the Axiom (2nd gen) controls (Faders, knobs, buttons, pads, pitch/mod wheel, pedal, or aftertouch strip) to send different MIDI messages.  Please refer to the Axiom (2nd gen) user guide for more information about the available standard and assignable MIDI CC's available for the different controls.

The following example configures a slider to send MIDI CC 102, however the process for assigning other controllers is the same.

  1. Press or move a controller to select it.
  2. Press the Edit button.
  3. Press the Control Assign key. The LCD screen will read “ASIGN” and display the currently selected control and the current MIDI CC assignment.
  4. Using the number keys, type in the desired MIDI CC number.
  5. Press the Enter key.

Note that in some instances it may be necessary to re-assign the minimum and maximum values for proper operation.

  1. Press the Edit button.
  2. Press the Data 2 key. The LCD screen will read “MIN” and display the currently selected control (for example “F10”), and the current value (for example “64”).
  3. Type 0 using the number keys to assign the “second button press” (minimum) value.
  4. Press the Enter key.
  5. Press the Edit button.
  6. Press the Data 3 key. The LCD screen will read “MAX” and display the currently selected control (for example “F10”), and the current value (for example “87”).
  7. Type 127 using the number keys to assign the “first button press” (maximum) value.
  8. Press the Enter key.

Repeat this process to select and edit additional controllers.  After programming your device, please refer to this article to store your changes to memory.
