ProjectMix I/O Control Surface triggers sounds in active Virtual Instruments in Cubase
Text size [-] [+]

Q: When using the ProjectMix I/O as a control surface in Cubase, the buttons on the Control Surface are triggering sounds in active Virtual Instruments.  How can I prevent this from happening?

A: By default, Cubase routes all MIDI inputs to MIDI tracks.  To prevent this, open the Cubase Device Setup, select MIDI Port Setup, and un-check the ProjectMix Control Surface MIDI from the "in All Inputs" column (pictured below).  This will prevent the conrol surface from triggering virtual instruments, but will still allow the ProjectMix to function normally as a control surface.
