Device not recognized or not sending MIDI into the computer - Mac OS X

The legacy MIDI devices listed below have a hardware incompatibility with new Aluminum Mac's, including the Unibody MacBook, MacBook Pro, and iMac, and may not function properly unless connected to a USB hub*.  The symptoms may include the device ceasing to send MIDI data to the computer after a short time, being recognized but not sending any MIDI, or not being recognized by the computer at all.

  • Keystation 49 (not “e”)
  • Keystation 61 (not “es”)
  • Midisport 1x1 (clear top)
  • Midisport 2x2
  • Midisport 2x4
  • Midisport 4x4
  • Midisport 8x8/s
  • Midisport Uno (older version)
  • Oxygen8 (not “v2”)
  • Radium 49
  • Radium 61


* Although non-powered hubs may work in some situations, a powered USB hub is recommended
