Studiophile Q40: No Bass, Sound is Distorted

Q: My Studiophile Q40 headphones sound distorted and/or have no bass, what should I do?

A: Make sure the detachable cable is screwed in tightly.  If the cable is not securely attached, it may not make a proper connection, resulting in sound degradation.  Be careful not to over tighten the cable.
