Q: What types of audio file formats are supported by Ableton Live Lite?
A: The Lite version of Ableton Live (packaged with many M-Audio products) supports WAV and AIFF file formats. Ableton Live Lite DOES NOT support MP3 or other compressed audio formats.
The full version of Live can play both uncompressed audio formats (WAV, AIF and Sound Designer II for Mac) and compressed audio formats (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, Ogg FLAC and FLAC).
Both the full and Lite versions of Ableton Live can take advantage of Acidized waves, but (like all samples and audio files you use in live) it is recommended that you copy these files to your hard drive before using them in Live. Accessing audio data directy from a sample CD-ROM or CD-R will likely result in playback errors.
