Using the Audio Technica AT822 Microphone
Text size [-] [+]

Q: I have a self-powered Audio Technica AT822 microphone.  If I use an XLR to 1/4" adapter with my AT822 to connect to my MicroTrack Series recorder, I get hissing noise instead of audio from the Mic. What can I do?

A: Make sure that the phantom power on the MicroTrack is turned off.  The AT822 is a self-powered microphone that does not require- or accept additional power for operation.  Do not use phantom power while the AT822 is plugged into the MicroTrack as this may in fact damage the microphone.

For the best performance with the MicroTrack II we recommend connecting the Audio Technica AT822 to the 1/8" microphone input.
