How to load presets from Enigma to your device

This guide will walk you through loading existing presets stored on your computer to your M-Audio or Evolution MIDI Controller using Enigma.  Click here to see a list of devices that are compatible with Enigma.

Before running Enigma, please ensure you have connected your M-Audio or Evolution Device to the Computer, and have installed any drivers necessary as detailed in your Device’s documentation.

1. Launch Enigma.  On start up, Enigma will locate your Device and identify it with a red ball icon; in this guide an Oxygen 8 v2 is used.  User Preset Banks are identified with orange ball icons.



2. Click to select a User Bank (orange ball icon) which contains the preset(s) you want to copy from Enigma to your Device; then select the first preset you would like to copy.



3. Copy this preset by pressing Ctrl-C (PC) or Cmd-C (Mac), or by choosing "Copy" from the Edit Menu.

4. Click your Device Bank (red ball icon) and select a preset location to paste this preset to.



5. Paste the preset by pressing Ctrl-V (PC) or Cmd-V (Mac), or by choosing "Paste" from the Edit Menu.



If you only have 1 preset to send to your device, skip ahead to Step 14.

6. Select the next preset you would like to copy to your device.



7. Copy this preset by pressing Ctrl-C (PC) or Cmd-C (Mac), or by choosing "Copy" from the Edit Menu.

8. Click your Device Bank (red ball icon) and select a different preset location to paste this preset to.



9. Paste the preset by pressing Ctrl-V (PC) or Cmd-V (Mac), or by choosing "Paste" from the Edit Menu.



10. It is possible to copy multiple presets from the same User Bank at once.  Ctrl-click (PC) or Cmd-click (Mac) to select multiple presets.



11. Copy these presets by pressing Ctrl-C (PC) or Cmd-C (Mac), or by choosing "Copy" from the Edit Menu.

12. Selected your Device Bank and Ctrl-Click (PC) or Cmd-click (Mac) to select the preset locations to paste the presets to.



13. Paste the presets by pressing Ctrl-V (PC) or Cmd-V (Mac), or by choosing "Paste" from the Edit Menu.



When you are finished copying presets to your Device Bank, the next step is to send these presets to your device.

14. Click your Device Bank (red ball icon) to select it.

15. Click the "Upload" button to send all of the presets in the Device Bank to your device*.

* Uploading the Device Bank will overwrite the entire contents of your device's memory.  If this is not desirable, click ‘cancel’ and back-up your memory contents before proceeding.

16. SYS will flash on your Device's LCD display, indicating that it is communicating with Enigma.  Windows XP users will receive an additional  confirmation message when complete:



You must Recall the preset for these new settings to be active on your Device.  Axiom Series, Keystation Pro 88, and Ozonic users should enable all groups (A, B, C, D) when recalling the preset to ensure settings for all controllers are loaded.  Please refer to your Device's documentation for how to recall presets and enable groups.
