This is a quick walkthrough on how to setup your ProjectMix I/O as a HUI Control Surface in Ableton Live.

1. The first step is to put your ProjectMix I/O into Live mode: Hold down the AUX 5 button while powering on the unit.  Live mode is confirmed on the LCD display when the ProjectMix I/O has initialized.

2. In Ableton Live, go to the Options Menu and choose Preferences (PC), or Live Menu and choose Preferences (Mac).  Click on the MIDI/Sync Tab.  In the “Remote Control Surfaces” section, select “ProjectMixIO” for Control Surfaces; and for BOTH Input and Output select “ProjectMix Control Surface MIDI”

3. Close the Preferences Window and your ProjectMix I/O is ready to serve as a control surface for Ableton Live.
