The instrument modules in the Key Rig Virtual Instrument software, SP-1, MS-2, and MB-3, respond to MIDI Channels 1-3 respectively. The KeyRig 49 keyboard defaults to transmitting on MIDI Channel 1, and will play the SP-1 Stage Piano Module.
To play the MS-2 synthesizer, you must change the KeyRig 49's MIDI Channel to 2. Press the Edit Mode button, then press the E3 key to select MIDI Channel 2.
To play the MB-3 Organ, you must change the KeyRig 49's MIDI Channel to 3. Press the Edit Mode button, then press the F3 key to select MIDI Channel 3.
The GM-4 module is a 16-channel, multi-timbral GM sound player with 128 patches and a GM standard drum and percussion kit (on MIDI Channel 10). Channels 1-3 are muted by default to allow the other instrument modules in the Key Rig to play without interference from the GM Module.
To select a channel for patch assignment or editing, click one of the 16 channel meters. To play the sound assigned to a channel, select the corresponding channel from the KeyRig 49 keyboard. Press the Edit Mode button, and then press one of the 16 channel keys from D1 to E3, whichever one represents the channel you need. KeyRig will exit Edit mode as soon as a channel key has been pressed.
