Channel Assign – Assigning an Axiom (2nd gen) control to a specific MIDI channel
Text size [-] [+]

MIDI CC and Note On/Off messages are sent on a specific MIDI Channel.  The controls on most Axiom Presets default to follow the Global Channel, which is Channel 1 by default.  On most Presets the Pads are programmed to send MIDI notes on Channel 10.  The Channel Assign function (CHAN ASGN) can be used to assign the active Axiom control to a specific MIDI channel.  To assign a knob, fader, button or pedal jack to a MIDI channel:

  1. Move or press the controller to select it
  2. Press the Edit button.
  3. Press the Channel Assign key. The LCD screen will display the current parameter (“CHAN), the currently selected control (for example “E1”), and the current MIDI channel (for example “1”).
  4. Enter the new MIDI channel number using the number keys.
  5. Press the Enter key.

When assigned to channel “0,” the control will transmit on the Global MIDI Channel.  When numbers 17 – 20 are entered the control will send MIDI data on one of the four Channels used by keyboard Zones, z1 – z4, as shown in the following table:
