How to clear MIDI assignments in Torq
Text size [-] [+]

If you’ve assigned a MIDI or Keyboard control using MIDI Learn and you wish to clear the assignment, simply right-click (CTRL-click on Mac) the desired control in Torq, then press the Backspace (PC) or Delete (Mac) key on your computer’s keyboard.  Any assignments for the control will be erased.

If you have inadvertently assigned a key to something and aren't sure what it is (e.g. your down arrow no longer scrolls down in the browser), re-assign the key to an unused parameter, like one of the QS1 buttons in the sampler.  Then used the method above to delete the assignment.

To delete all custom MIDI and Keyboard assignments and revert Torq to its default setup, quit Torq and delete the MIDI Settings Preference File.

Windows XP

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\M-Audio\Torq and delete the files DefaultMidi.settings and DefaultKeyboard.settings

Note: Application Data  is a hidden folder.  Go to the Tools Menu>Folder Options and select the View Tab.  Select the button "Show hidden files and folders" and click OK.

Windows Vista / Windows 7

Go to C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\M-Audio\Torq and delete the files DefaultMidi.settings and DefaultKeyboard.settings

Note: AppData  is a hidden folder.  Go to the Windows Control Panel > Folder Options and select the View Tab.  Select the button "Show hidden files and folders" and click OK.

Mac OS X

Go to Macintosh HD>Users>User Name>Library>Application Support>M-Audio>Torq and delete the files DefaultMidi.settings and DefaultKeyboard.settings
