Recommended Procedure for Updating to Torq v1.0.7 from previous versions (Windows XP SP2 & SP3 & Windows Vista 32 bit)

Before updating to Torq v1.0.7, users who wish to retain previously created playlists, MIDI mappings, sample banks or samples, snapshots, effects and bank settings should perform the following steps in order.

1. Make sure you have your Browser set to show System and Hidden Files before proceeding. (View Menu>Folder Options>View Tab)
2. Create a temporary directory (folder) on your computer's desktop named "Torq_BackUp" or something easy for you to remember.
3. Using your OS Browser (Windows Explorer), go into this directory location:
XP - "system drive"\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Application Data\M-Audio\Torq
Vista -
"system drive"\users\"user name"\App Data\M-Audio\Torq
4. From this location, select and copy all files and folders at this location.
5. Return to your desktop and open the back up folder you've created. ("Torq_BackUp" or whatever you've chosen to name it.)
6. Paste all the files you've copied during step 4 into your back up folder.
7. Close all folders.
8. Launch the Uninstaller for your current Torq version and follow the prompts to remove Torq.
9. After uninstaller completes, restart your computer.
10. Once your system is restarted, launch the installer for Torq v1.0.7 and complete the steps until you are prompted that the
installation is successfully completed.
11. Open the "Torq_BackUp" directory (or whatever folder you createdin step 2) on your desktop and select and copy all files EXCEPT Torq.db and Torq.dbM
12. Open the directory:
XP - "system drive"\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Application Data\M-Audio\Torq
Vista -
"system drive"\users\"user name"\App Data\M-Audio\Torq
13. Paste the files you've copied in Step 11.
14. When asked if you'd like to overwrite existing files, answer "Yes to All."
15. Launch Torq v1.0.7 and you should now have access to the user files available in the previous version of Torq.

Additionally, you should "Add to Database" all of your existing audio library for use in Torq.  V1.0.7 is compatible with previous version TQDs; it is not necessary to delete TQD's and reanalyze files.
