MIDISport Series, the MIDI input LED is blinking
Text size [-] [+]

Q: The MIDI Input-LED is blinking or constantly on although I’m not playing on my MIDI keyboard. Is the MIDISport defect?

A: No. This means that the MIDI device that is connected to the MIDI in of the MIDISport is permanently sending a MIDI active sensing- or a synchronization signal. The MIDI-In LED does not only light up when notes are played on your keyboard, but also if any kind of a MIDI message is received (Controller Messages, program changes, Synchronization messages, SysEx, etc). If the MIDI-In LED is off, blinking or constantly on when not playing anything on the keyboard depends entirely on the make and model of the keyboard you have connected, but is always normal and doesn’t mean that there is any problem.
