Torq 1.5.1 now allows you to specify the location of the iTunes Library you wish to use. If you have an iTunes Library set up in a location other than the default, open Torq's Preferences and click on the Plug-In Tab. Here you will find settings that allow you to use and specify the location of the iTunes Library you wish to use with Torq. Simply click on the path shown in the preference and a dialog box will open. Navigate to the "iTunes Library.xml" file you wish to use and click OK. You must then restart Torq for your change to take effect.
Note: When iTunes creates a library on the local hard drive, it creates a file called "iTunes Music Library.xml". However, when iTunes sets up a library in another location, it creates a similar file called "iTunes Library.xml". If you copy your entire iTunes folder from your local hard drive to another location (such as an external hard drive), Torq will not be able to use this library and all of its songs until you perform the following steps:
- After moving your iTunes folder to a new location, launch iTunes while holding they OPTION key (for Mac) or SHIFT key (for PC)
- When iTunes starts, it will ask you if you want to create a new library or choose the location of another library. Click the Choose Location button
- iTunes will open a dialog box allowing you to navigate to the new location of your library. Select the iTunes Library file and click OK
- iTunes will now open as usual and all the files in your library will be ready to play
- Quit iTunes
- Launch Torq and open the Plug-In Preferences
- Click the path button to specify the new location of the iTunes Library
- Torq will open a dialog box allowing you to navigate to the new location of the library
- When you navigate to the new location, you will see two XML files. Please select the file named "iTunes Library.xml" and click OK
- Close the Preferences and re-start Torq. Torq will now read the contents of the iTunes Library at the new location
