General

Issue: When a MIDI device outputting active sensing data is connected to the ProFire’s MIDI Input, the Mic Input signal LED’s may light up randomly, and occasional signal spikes in the ProFire control panel may be seen.

Workaround: This issue does not affect the audio in any way. The signal spikes are not present in the audio recorded or played back. Disconnecting the MIDI device will prevent the LED’s and meters from responding irregularly.

Windows

Issue: ProFire 610 sample offset based on time stamping is inaccurate, which misreports latency and causes deviation with the sample offsets. The most extreme cases we've encountered result in approximately +/- 16 samples.

Workaround: None

Issue: In non-English versions of Windows XP, one of the ProFire 610 driver files installs to the wrong location resulting in Pro Tools M-Powered 8 not being able to locate the M-Audio hardware.

Workaround: Move the profirept.dll file from the English Program Files\Common Files folder to the localized language version of these folders.

For example, when installing the ProFire 610 on the localized Norwegian XP, the profirept.dll file is placed in:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\DigiDesign\DAE\Devices\M-Audio\profirept.dll

It should be placed in:

C:\Programfiler\Fellesfiler\DigiDesign\DAE\Devices\M-Audio\profirept.dll
