Show Report: 2008 International DJ Expo
M-Audio goes back to the boardwalk to make a splash at the IDJ Expo

The International DJ Expo may be the only convention in Atlantic City where attendees flock to casinos to escape the noise. Sponsored by DJ Times magazine, the 2008 show proved to be the biggest (and loudest) ever, with thousands of people and dozens of manufacturers descending on the Trump Taj Mahal for three days of DJ heaven.

M-Audio joined local dealer Washington Music in presenting a non-stop schedule of demonstrations and clinics featuring Torq® DJ software and hardware. Special guest DJ Johnny Juice of the legendary Public Enemy stopped by each day to perform killer sets using the Torq Conectiv® system. Juice demonstrated how to cue, beat-match and mix digital files using a laptop, Torq Conectiv and standard turntables. Product specialist Raul Resendiz amazed the crowd by showcasing the powerful features of the all-in-one Torq Xponent® advanced DJ performance rig.

The International DJ Expo is geared primarily for mobile, wedding and club DJs, so the M-Audio team focused on highlighting the real-world applications of Torq software. By setting up hands-on demo stations and interacting one-on-one with attendees, the crew was able to convert many “traditional” DJs to the exciting world of digital DJing. For everyone involved, the 2008 International DJ Expo was a rousing success.
