Producer/remixer/recording artist Carmen Rizzo has long been a champion of important causes within the music community—and now he’s using music to support broader issues. He recently collaborated with Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) to produce the song “Go Greenpeace” for Greenpeace International, an independent organization that uses non-violent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems and force solutions. To craft this inspirational track, Rizzo utilized the FireWire 410 interface, Radium 49 controller and BX10s subwoofer along with Pro Tools M-Powered software and the iZotope Ozone 3 mastering plug-in.
“This project would have been impossible without my M-Audio products,” declares Rizzo. “They are a necessity in my music production in the studio or on the road. M-Audio makes my music production a breeze and is truly a company who listens to their users and does not sacrifice quality for price. My Radium 49 MIDI controller and BX5a reference monitors were used in every step of making the Greenpeace track. I can not believe the accuracy of those little monitors."
Rizzo’s electro world-beat version includes the eclectic cast of the original Greenpeace track—Imogen Heap, Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Imbruglia and Dave Stewart—plus several newcomers from around the world. His remix includes appearances by Toumany Kouyate (Senegal), Dimitris Mahlis (Greece), Satnam Ramgotra (India/Canada), Kate Havnevik (Norway), Joanna Stevens (England), Jamie Muhoberac (USA), Chevy Bhorntus (Thailand) and himself (Italy). The song is truly a fusion of global talent, featuring many languages including Manding from Senegal, English and Norwegian.
